Our (Haunted) Farmhouse in the Catskills

I'm finally getting around to upload photos from my trip up to the Catskills over Labor Day weekend, where we stayed in this gorgeously rustic (and haunted) farmhouse. Okay, so maybe it's not haunted and I completely made that up, but I think pretending it was haunted added to its rustic charm! The house is actually a wedding venue and retreat spot called The Turquoise Barn, nestled in the Catskill Mountains in a quaint little town of Bloomville, NY. The farmhouse and its grounds are just too gorgeous not to share.

Renting a house over Labor Day weekend has become an ongoing tradition, and each year we gain a few more friends who want in on the fun. This year was super laid back. We left the house one day to go rafting down the Delaware River in the most bone chilling rainy weather (but that adds to the fun, right?!) And the other days we hunkered down in our rustic abode and cooked family dinners, drank lots of rose and red wine, and played Cards Against Humanity and What Do You Meme -- which is now officially my new favorite game! It's basically Cards Against Humanity except the base cards are funny photos and popular memes and you create the caption. It's hilarious and kept us entertained for hours. Then I realized they also make a "Basic Bitch" Expansion pack, so I know what I'll be buying for our next game night!

And lastly, I'll leave you with a parting shot of half our group. All smiles on the river, before the dark clouds and rain came in. Regardless, our dysfunctional crew can make anything fun ;)
